SCHOOLWIDE HIGHLIGHTS

Holiday Canned Food Drive
Welcome back Kainalu to a brand new 2008 school year! Can you believe we're in our second semester of school already? Time flies quickly doesn't it? In December, we had our Holiday Canned Food Drive and we collected cans for the Hawaii Food Bank. We collected a grand total of 1,664 cans. WOW! That's a lot of cans! We did not just collect cans during this time, we also competed in a friendly competition between our grade level classes to find out who would get the most cans collected out of their grade level. The winning classes were:

Preschool - Mrs. Kobe-Yamane & Mrs. Klein
Kindergarten - Mrs. Muraoka
1st Grade - Mrs. Wai
2nd Grade - Ms. Uyehara
3rd Grade - Ms. Paloma
4th Grade - Mrs. Onuma
5th Grade - Mrs. Young
6th Grade - Mrs. Chu

The winning classes got an ice pop party. Congratulations to all who won. We are so proud of our generous Kainalu ohana.
